About Adam Amann and the Location
Chef Adam Aamann began to revive Danish open-faced sandwiches (smørrebrød) when he opened his business in 2006 on Østerbro in Copenhagen. The focus was on bread and toppings of a higher quality and good balance in flavor. This happened at the same time that many restaurants were inspired by the New Nordic Cuisine, where they developed the cuisine based on local ingredients and forgotten skills.
Aamann's restaurant Genbo is his newest and it is located in Carlsberg Byen. It is close to where Carlsberg's brewery was founded by JC Jacobsen on 10th November 1847.
In Carlsberg Byen, you can probably see the World's Most Beautiful Industrial Building. Today it is a new part of Copenhagen with modern architecture for housing, shopping, and eateries.
